I had the privilege of working with Sonia and Emmanuel on their August wedding; one of the first things I was struck by how she described their relationship, not only during our consultation call but also on one of the answers on their intake questionnaire-
“ Our faith is essential to our personal lives and as a couple, and we both love our families. We enjoy each other’s company, push each other to be better, and are excited to get married. We operate as a team and complement each other well.”
Sonia and Emmanuel celebrated their wedding at Fairlie Chicago, which is an amazing open warehouse space in the West Loop. They wanted to have a chic vibe for their wedding, and choosing the Fairlie Chicago as their venue allowed for the modern, chic look they desired!
Since the guest count was full of family and close friends, this space also lent itself to allowing the couple to invite everyone who meant the world to them and have plenty of space to party!
Brittney Kee Floral Design created stunning florals for the ceremony, and dinner tables in shades of greenery, ivory and gold. It was the perfect natural color palette to complement Fairlie’s brick walls and natural light ambiance.
Calligraphy by CT provided all of the Wedding Day signage, which completed the natural tones of the floral decor perfectly.
When they hired me for Wedding Day Management, the venue, caterer, photographer and florist had already been secured, I came in to assist with Day of logistics and clarify decor details for their day.
It was important to me that they felt supported in their final months, coordinating the details and making sure they would be able to be truly hands off on their wedding day and simply enjoy getting married and celebrating with their family and friends!
One of my favorite moments of the night was watching Sonia, Emmanuel and the entire wedding party dance down the aisle after the ceremony, it certainly got everyone in the mood to party the night away!
Another special moment was watching the family and friends who are members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity gather around Sonia and Emmanuel to serenade them and give blessings to their marriage.
After Dj Nosike kept the dance floor packed all night long, The night ended with a magical sparkler exit with Sonia and Emmanuel running through a tunnel of their favorite people cheering them on into their awaiting town car.
